Aerospace & Defence SIG Meeting: "New Developments in Simulation & Control of Aircraft Systems"

Agenda

New demands in Aerospace systems are leading to more advanced large-scale multivariable control solutions. However, certification of advanced multivariable non-deterministic gain-scheduled controllers continues to be a problem. Modern control synthesis techniques with a priori guaranteed stability properties and advanced desktop simulations suggest that acceptable solutions can be found. However, the problems of model validation, robust performance and most importantly determinism of the controller remain.

The theme of this day will be the presentation of new design methods for such complex airborne systems as UAVís, missiles, flight control systems and an electro-optic sensor suite. The discussion session at the end will be focused on how these methods can be used to overcome the certification hurdle.

We would be very happy to hear your ideas on how the SIG should proceed during the general discussion session.
